Musical Shape Shifters
Long Swan musicians developed together in the downtown New Bedford MA neighborhood and bonded over their shared passions for sound, rhythm and beats. Each member brings a unique musical aesthetic to the band and over the years we’ve grown comfortable exploring song writing, visual art, and story telling.
Born of One-Nighters
Starting out, members Michael Heffernan, Kat Knutsen exchanged ideas on chord progressions, lyrics, and sound effects. The two collaborated here and there over the course of 10 years. In 2021 they began building their first original song set list to play at local gigs in the visual art scene of New Bedford, MA and Providence, RI.
Looking to the Future
We are setting up for recording our first album. Our set list features the new stuff that has developed since Andrew Hopkinson (bass), and Michael Gallant (trombone), Michael McLane (ShClane - drums) joined. Check out our tour page for when we’ll be playing near you.
